What makes the Gut Zoomer technology so accurate?

Vibrant’s Gut Zoomer technology is based on a custom designed microarray which tests for multiple gene regions including 16s, 23s, and some other proprietary gene segments to accurately identify an organism. Here's an analogy. If the lab only analyzes 16s, they might confuse your hand with your sister’s hand or your brother’s hand. By analyzing both 16s and 23s portions, Vibrant can confirm with certainty it is your hand and not your brother’s hand or sister’s hand. For example, if a sample with 20 bacterial species is analyzed using 16s + 23s technology, the lab can correctly identify the 20 species. However, if only 16s technology is used, the lab might falsely identify 80 different species.
