While antifungals do not interfere with Vibrant's Mycotoxin test performance, antifungals may affect the urinary mycotoxin "load" excreted. This may be especially true when patients have fungal overgrowth. Note that antifungals have highly variable half-lives and highly variable dose-dependent efficacy. Antifungal impact is dependent upon the specific antimicrobial agent used, and the susceptibility of the specific fungal species. For those reasons, a conservative recommendation would be to wait 7-14 days after discontinuing antifungal antimicrobials before collecting a urine sample for Vibrant's Mycotoxins test.
