Will wheat allergy shots affect Vibrant's Wheat Zoomer test results?

Possibly.

The Wheat Zoomer is an IgA/IgG antibody test. While immunotherapy treatment results in long-term suppression of serum allergen-specific IgE for years (average 3-5 years) after treatment, immunotherapy treatment has a variable effect on IgG subclasses. Some IgG subclasses increase during treatment, others decrease, and some remain unchanged. Research is ongoing on long term effects of immunotherapy treatment on IgA.

Since the effects of immunotherapy treatment are highly variable in individuals, it may be helpful to order Total Immunoglobulins prior to Wheat Zoomer testing to determine a patient's baseline immunoglobulin production and, thus, the accuracy of a patient's antibody response.
