Which test is best to identify Candida overgrowth?

Vibrant's Gut Zoomer measures candida (DNA). If Candida is present in the stool, it will be reported on Gut Zoomer results.

However, if Candida is hiding in the tissue or biofilms (and not present in the stool sample provided), providers may order a Fungal Antibodies test (which is included in Vibrant's Candida + IBS Profile). Vibrant's Fungal Antibodies test provides insight on the patient's antibodies to Candida, which should be measurable if their body is currently fighting (or recently fought) a Candida infection. Another test that provides insight on Candida overgrowth is Vibrant's Organic Acids test, which includes markers of fungal overgrowth. For example, high levels of urine ketones like 3-hydroxybutyric acid can be caused by severe GI Candida overgrowth and carboxycitric acid is a metabolite indicator of elevated yeast/fungal overgrowth in the GI tract.

For the most comprehensive look, consider ordering all three: Gut Zoomer, Organic Acids, and Candida + IBS Profile.
