Will methylene blue affect urine results? What if I already collected while on it? What are the next steps?

Vibrant has not tested Methylene Blue interference against urine test markers (i.e. Organic Acids or the Total Toxic Burden including Environmental Toxins, Heavy Metals, and Mycotoxins). It is better to avoid it (until urine is no longer blue) prior to collecting a urine sample for testing.

However, for optimal and clinically relevant results, it is best to avoid it prior to sample collection since samples should be collected under normative conditions, ensuring consistency in collection procedures and tube handling. Patients should maintain their routine diet, medications, and supplements unless specifically instructed otherwise by their healthcare provider. This approach ensures accurate assessment based on their usual physiological state.

If a sample was already collected while on methylene blue, we encourage you to contact your sales rep to request a new kit to collect a new sample.
