If total white blood cell counts are low or high, how will that affect micronutrient results on Vibrant's Micronutrient test?

Intracellular micronutrient levels are calculated and expressed as a ratio of total white blood cell (WBC) counts. Therefore, abnormal WBC counts may skew the results.

  • Low WBC counts may falsely “concentrate” the analytes, resulting in false highs (2/10 =20%)
  • High WBC counts may falsely “dilute” the analytes, resulting in false lows (2/100 = 2%)
