Can anaplasmosis be a chronic, persistent, or dormant infection?

  1. Persistent anaplasmosis infection has not been established in studies
  2. Lifelong immunity is not conferred in anaplasmosis infection
  3. Protective immunity requires more than the presence of antibodies against anaplasmosis
  4. Reinfection of anaplasmosis is possible
  5. Biofilm formation may contribute to resistance of anti-tick immunity
