According to this 2019 Gut Pathogens article, Vibrant’s Gut Zoomer Pathogens panel has 95.9% sensitivity and 100% specificity.
- A sensitivity of 95.6% means, if 100 people are tested who DO HAVE a pathogen, all 95.6 people will get a true positive result, and 4.4% will get a false negative result.
- A specificity of 100% means, if 100 people are tested who DO NOT HAVE a pathogen, 100% of people will get a true negative result; nobody will get a false positive result. In other words, if a pathogen is detected, you for sure have that pathogen (no false positives).
