What tests are recommended for ADD/ADHD?

Please consider the following,

  • Gut Zoomer – To investigate the status of the patient’s gut-brain connection – https://www.health.harvard.edu/diseases-and-conditions/the-gut-brain-connection
  • Wheat Zoomer – Antibodies to prodynorphin can contribute to symptoms like brain fog, mood issues like depression, or poor emotional control; it’s good to assess in children before starting ADHD medications. Transglutaminase 6 is correlated with neurological manifestations of autoimmunity in the cerebellum.
  • Food sensitivity –  If the Wheat Zoomer indicates intestinal hyperpermeability, multiple food sensitivities are likely. Avoiding reactive foods should reduce inflammation and, thus, improve brain function.
  • Micronutrients – Deficiencies in various micronutrients, especially the B vitamins, have adverse effects on cognition – https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/health-disease/cognitive-function
  • OATS – to investigate neurotransmitter imbalance.
  • Food Additives - associated with exacerbated ADD/ADHD
