What tests are recommended for psoriasis?

According to Nair & Badri (2023), please consider the following

  • Complete CBC, renal, and liver function tests
  • Rheumatoid factor (Connective Tissue Panel)
  • Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) - may be elevated in erythrodermic and pustular psoriasis
  • Uric acid - since levels are high in psoriasis

The following are not offered by Vibrant but may also be considered in the workup,

  • If only hand and feet are involved, obtain scrappings for fungal studies
  • Pregnancy test
  • Hepatitis serology
  • PPD

From a wellness perspective, please consider the following

  • Wheat Zoomer, Dairy Zoomer and Food Sensitivity test to assess if gluten, dairy, and other food sensitizativities are triggers or mediators of autoimmunity
  • Total Tox Burden to assess toxic burden contributing to autoimmunity, inflammation, and oxidative stress 
  • Urine Hormones or Saliva Hormones to assess for hormone imbalance as a trigger or mediator of psoriasis
  • Micronutrients to assess micronutrient deficiency, overload, or toxicity contributing to autoimmunity, inflammation, and oxidative stress
