Type 1 Diabetes
- Autoimmune Zoomer: The Pancreas Panel measures several autoantigens associated with the development of Type 1 Diabetes, such as:
Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
- Diabetes Panel: Assesses current status of diabetes markers (Glucose, HbA1c, Glycated Serum Protein, Insulin, Ferritin, Adiponectin)
- Cardiac Health Panel and CardiaX: Assesses current lipid levels and cardiovascular risk. Diabetes and heart disease often go hand in hand. Over time, high blood sugar can damage blood vessels and the nerves that control your heart.
- Wheat Zoomer: Increased intestinal permeability can precede the onset of, and contribute to the pathophysiology of both Type I (autoimmune) and Type II diabetes. There is also a relationship between non-celiac gluten sensitivity and celiac disease, increasing risk of Type 1 diabetes.
- Total Tox Burden (Heavy Metals, Environmental Toxins, Mycotoxins): diabetogenic toxins like phthalates and Arsenic have been linked to interference with mechanisms sensing glucose as well as regulating insulin secretion
-
Inflammation, anemia, and micronutrient markers: Such as vitamin D are associated with diabetes. Also consider:
- Inflammation Panel (hs-CRP and homocysteine)
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel + Complete Blood Count
- Micronutrients (zinc, chromium, magnesium, copper, manganese and vitamin B6)
