When a blood draw is required, our blood draw concierge service allows patients to choose a location and provide three available times. Based on the times provided by the patient, our team will coordinate the appointment with our phlebotomy partners in the patient's area. The patient will receive email correspondence when an appointment time and location are confirmed. Patients benefit from a simplified scheduling and management process and a new transparent flat fee.
Currently, this service is available in Texas, Florida, and California by invitation only. If you practice in one of these states and would like to participate in this program, please contact your account manager or our support team.
Adding the Service Charge
The Blood Concierge service can be added at the time the order is placed by the provider so it is included in the overall bill for specific payment methods or it can be added by the patient for all payment types. If the concierge fee is not added by the provider, the patient will receive an email allowing them to add the blood concierge fee after they have received their kit.
When it is added by the patient, the patient will pay for the blood concierge fee separately.
The payment method selected changes the way in which the blood concierge fee can be added and how the blood concierge fee is paid.
Please see the chart below for details:
Providers
Providers can only add the blood concierge fee when Patient Pay Now or Provider Office Bill is chosen as the payment method.
1. Proceed to the Checkout Page and select the Include Concierge Fee box
Although the blood concierge service fee can be added using any payment method, when a provider places a Patient Pay Later order, the service can't be added at the time of the order. The patient must choose to add the service at the time of checkout.
Patients
If Patient Pay Later is chosen as the payment method, the patient must make payment before their order can be shipped. When an order that requires a blood draw is placed, the patient will receive the email below after they have received their kit regardless of whether or not the provider added the blood concierge service at the time they placed the order. If the blood concierge fee was not added by the provider, the patient can choose to add it and pay for it separately.
If the blood draw concierge fee has already been paid for, this button allows the patient to schedule their appointment. If the fee has not been paid for, it allows the patient to add it and pay for it themselves.
Scheduling the Blood Draw Appointment
1. When the patient selects the button in the email, they must verify their name and date of birth to begin selecting their appointment time.
2. The patient will choose three times they are available for the blood draw appointment for the phlebotomist to choose from and confirm their selections.
3. Patients will choose an appointment location. If they would like to use the same address, they can use the "same as shipping address" box.
4. Patients will be required to provide a 4-digit code sent to their phone to proceed with this service.
If the concierge fee has already been paid, patients will skip the checkout stage.
The patient will receive an email and text notification when the phlebotomist has confirmed one of the three potential appointment times. The patient will be able to cancel or reschedule their appointment from the confirmation notification.
