How are the Lectin Zoomer Summary Scores calculated?

The Lectin Zoomer Summary Score is derived from a weighted average (not an exact average!) calculated in part based on the reference range, on the weight of the analyte in the sample, and the titer intensity. The score cannot be calculated directly based on the test’s IgA and IgG results.

This is similar to the Wheat, Dairy, Corn, and other food Zoomers where a weighted score and weightage is assigned according to a number of factors- type of antibody response (IgE vs IgA vs IgG), clinical significance of the antigen itself in health and disease, and the abundance of the antigen in the food.

The Summary Scores for the Zoomers, including the Lectin Zoomer Summary Scores, are different than the directly measured quantitative results for each peptide/antigen. The Summary Scores are meant to provide an expanded perspective. Providers should use the Lectin Zoomer Summary Score for clinical decision-making for allowing, rotating, or eliminating the specific lectin/aquaporin food.
