Several streptococcal A antibodies can be measured to detect a strep infection:
- ASO (Anti-Streptolysin O antibody): This is an antibody produced in response to the Streptolysin O antigen, a toxin released by Streptococcus bacteria.
- ADB (Anti-DNase B antibody): This antibody is produced against the DNase B enzyme, which is also produced by Streptococcus bacteria.
- Anti-NADase antibody (Antinicotinamide-adenine dinucleotidase antibody): This is an antibody targeting the NADase enzyme from Streptococcus bacteria.
- ASK (Antistreptokinase antibody): Produced in response to the streptokinase enzyme from Streptococcus.
- AH (Anti-hyaluronidase antibody): This antibody targets the hyaluronidase enzyme, another secretion of Streptococcus bacteria.
- ASP (Anti-streptococcal polysaccharide antibody): This is an antibody that reacts against polysaccharides on the surface of Streptococcus bacteria.
Vibrant measures ASO (Anti-Streptolysin O antibody).
