Total IgA may be high for several non-food sensitization reasons, such as infections, connective tissues disease, autoimmune conditions, or hematological disorders, among other reasons. Food sensitization may cause high levels of specific- IgA or specific-IgG antibodies (specific to the food- ie wheat, cow's milk, egg, soy etc.). This is highly variable among individuals. Overall, having a high total IgA does not guarantee a high-specific IgA response to foods.
My Total IgA is high but my Wheat Zoomer results did not show any food specific-IgA sensitivities. How could this be?
