Providers are able to order Vibrant tests for minors, though they must obtain parental or legal guardian consent before the order can be completed. The Pediatric Consent message helps guide users through the required steps to ensure compliance and maintain an auditable record of consent.
Consent During Ordering
When users begin an order for a minor, a Provider Consent pop-up appears. This step confirms that:
- Pediatric reference ranges are not established
- Interpretation of results is the provider’s responsibility
Users must select one of the following:
- Yes, I consent
- No, I do not consent
- Yes, and never ask again (Records future consent for that provider and removes this pop-up message for future orders)
If the user does not consent, the order cannot proceed.
Guardian Consent Collection
After the provider consents, a Guardian Consent step appears. Users can select:
- Send approval email to guardian
- Collect consent on site
Guardian approval must be completed before an order for a minor can be finalized.
