How long after a test report is released may I schedule a clinical consult?

Clinical consultations are limited to laboratory results obtained within the past six months to ensure clinical relevance, meaningfulness, and utility.

Many biomarkers exhibit temporal variability influenced by changes in physiology, health status, diet, lifestyle, medications, and environmental exposures.

Consequently, older results may no longer accurately reflect a patient's current biological status, diminishing their clinical utility and potentially leading to inappropriate interpretations, unnecessary interventions, or other clinical harms when used to inform medical decision-making.

The 6-month consultation window will be calculated based on the most recent of the following dates:

  • Report Release Date: The most recent report release date.
  • Sample Collection Date: The sample collection date. If the sample has been received but the collection date is unavailable, the sample receive date will be used instead.
  • Service Date: The original order service date.

As long as at least one of these dates falls within the past 6 months, the order will remain eligible for consultation scheduling.
