How to Sync the Vibrant Chrome Extension with Practice Better via API?

The Vibrant Chrome Extension integrates directly with Practice Better to reduce duplicate data entry and streamline workflows. By syncing the extension to Practice Better, patient information is automatically recognized and passed to the Vibrant Provider Portal, enabling users to order tests, track order statuses, and download reports without leaving the EHR system.
 
The Vibrant Chrome Extension can be synced to Practice Better in two ways:
  • Sync Via Website: The extension captures first name, last name, and email. Patients will receive an email directing them to the MyWellness Portal to complete demographics, payment, and collection instructions.
  • Sync Via API: The extension securely passes additional information including first name, last name, email, address, and gender into the Vibrant Wellness Portal, reducing the need for patient data entry.

This article will go through the setups process for the Sync Via API option.

How to Obtain Credential Key

Log into your Practice Better Portal, and navigate to Settings > 3rd Party Integration.

 

Select API Access, and select the Create Key button on the bottom right of the page.

 

Name the key, select Read and Write, and click Create.

The API Key will now show up with the rest of your API Keys. Be sure to copy both the Client ID and Client Secret keys and save it in a secure place. Have this information on hand when syncing the Vibrant Chrome Extension to Practice Better, as it will be required when Syncing via API.

How to Sync via API

1. Log into the Practice Better EHR account.

2. Click on the Vibrant Chrome Extension icon in the browser toolbar, and log in using your Provider Portal Credentials.

3. Select Sync via API.

4. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret Key and paste it into the Vibrant Chrome Extension.

*The Client ID will be pasted into Client ID field, and the Client Secret Key will be pasted in the Credential Key field.

Once synced, the Vibrant Chrome Extension will automatically detect the active patient file, pre-fill information for orders, track order statuses in real time, and provide direct access to patient reports without requiring a separate login to the Vibrant Provider Portal.
