How do I use the at-home test menu?

If you have found that tests disappear from your cart or are confused about the sample collection method when using the ordering portal, you may be using the at-home test menu incorrectly.

There are two categories of Vibrant tests:

Tests that require a blood draw sample collection (serum)

and

Tests that can be collected 100% from the patient's home (DBS, saliva, stool, urine, etc.)

When the 'At Home' toggle is in the 'on' position, you will only see tests that can be completed with samples 100% from the patient's home using a test kit. Eligible tests that require blood will use DBS.

When the 'At Home' toggle is in the 'off' position, you will see all available tests, including those that require a blood draw from your office, blood draw center, or mobile phlebotomy service.

Some of our tests can use either DBS(dried blood spot), or blood serum sample collection types and are available when the toggle is both 'on' and 'off'.

You cannot combine blood draw(serum) orders with at-home test kit orders. This is to prevent the patient from having to submit more samples than necessary.

This means that if one of the tests you would like to order can be completed with a DBS and one requires a blood draw, your patient will not submit a DBS; both tests will use the serum sample and both tests must be ordered when the toggle is 'off'. The portal will automatically discard tests in the cart when you go from one toggle position to the other and a warning will pop-up.

Important: Do not switch this toggle in the middle of your order as this may result in tests being removed from your cart if they were placed before you changed the toggle.
